Trail Maintenance Day – May 12, 2018
Another Important Update!!
This is really, honestly, the day that Maintenance Day will be happening. On May 12, 2018, from 9 to noon come out and help get the Hiawatha Trails in shape for the season.
No previous trail work experience is required to attend. All you need is some energy and interest in your trails. We welcome all help!
Come out and learn the basics of trail maintenance and play a part in getting our trails ready for another season.
I’m looking for volunteers to help coordinate this event. Specifically, I’m looking for:
- 2-3 people willing to do a trail inspection during the week leading up to the event (requires approx. 2 hours to survey a trail section, noting the maintenance work required, maps, forms and instructions provided)
- 2-6 crew leaders to lead crews on the day of the event
- 1 person willing to coordinate refreshments on the day of the event
Mark May 12 on your calendars (after crossing out those other erroneous dates proposed by me). Come on out and give a thumbs up for your favorite trails!
