Meet the Club – Ben Warnock, Director at Large

Meet Ben! He’s a Director at Large for the SCC. Ben has organized the September 19 Event to ride or run the Hiawatha trails for 50 or 100 miles. Make sure to say hello when you see him out riding!

I grew up in the Sault, went to school in Windsor, competed in track and field at an international level, moved back to the Soo in 2016 and started mountain biking.

My interests include riding bikes, watching bike races and doing other bike related activities.

I became a part of the Sault Cycling Club Executive to help expand our trail systems, bring more riders/events to the Sault, and get more people in our community to use our trails.

I love biking because it’s challenging and there is always something to improve on. It’s mostly because it’s a competition against myself to become the best rider I can be. Whether it’s getting more endurance, being faster on the trails or having lifelong challenges like completing the Marji Gesick in under 12 hours, there is always something to look forward to and that’s exciting! And biking with friends is fun too
